WELLINGTON, New Zealand – Energy and Resources Minister Simon Bridges has announced New Zealand’s third annual block offer for petroleum exploration permits.
Block Offer 2014 covers total acreage of 405,000 sq km (156,371 sq mi).
Offshore release areas include the Reinga-Northland basin; the New Caledonia basin; the Taranaki basin; the Pegasus-East Coast basin; and the Canterbury and Great South basins.
Bidding closes on Sept. 25, 2014. Permits are expected to be issued between December and March 2015.
